VitalSigns is CodeBlue’s business intelligence (BI) dashboard tool that allows a practice to quickly gauge its financial health by using Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that automatically extract data from the Practice Management Billing System (PMS). Through a flexible point and click user interface, VitalSigns allows the practice to more efficiently view, analyze and take action to ensure a more profitable operation.

VitalSigns’ competitive advantages include predictive analytics, e-mail alerts, and actionable recommendations for the practice. VitalSigns automatically interfaces with the PMS and accounting software and then delivers the analysis in an ASP environment (Application Services Provider). It will maintain its own database and can export this data to other systems in standard formats, such as Excel.

One key report in VitalSigns allows the practice to compare its Practice Fees to the local or regional Medicare allowables by Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code.  Running this report highlights procedures that the practice may not be billing appropriately.

The practice’s business rules can easily be changed or updated through the administrator’s module, allowing the practice to quickly adjust to changes in projections or market mandates. This allows the practice to set different thresholds as performance improves.

1.  VitalSigns uses bridging software to connect to a practice’s EXISTING Practice Management System

2.  On the dashboard, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are monitored, tracked and updated automatically.

3.  The practice sets goals and projections for each of these KPIs – either through benchmarking of practices of similar size and specialty or as a way to project the desired financial outcomes.

4.  Color coded “Alerts” automatically notify the Practice Administrator in “near time” if these projections are not being met.

5.  Administrators can quickly “diagnose” potential problems before they become REAL problems.

6.  VitalSigns has several pre-formatted reports, enabling the practice to easily view practice information.

7.  Single reports or sets of reports can be emailed to designated individuals at scheduled times.

8.  Reports can be exported in several different formats, including Excel spreadsheets.
